Tent crash in Baden-Württemberg: The last summer day is over

Baden-Württemberg expects a striking temperature fall in the next few days. After a hot summer that has not held a capable recovery for many people in the past few weeks, colder times are now pending. Weather expert Dominik Jung warns of a drastic change in the coming days and describes the upcoming weather developments.

On Thursday, September 5, there could occasionally occur violent rain showers and thunderstorms in southwestern Germany before a decline in temperatures begins. Jung describes this day as a kind of transition, with a so -called "heat element", in which the temperatures are between 18 and 24 degrees. It is the last moment when the region can enjoy the summer temperatures, while other parts of Germany continue to benefit from the heat.

last heat wave and upcoming coolness

The Saturday, September 7th, is announced as the last summer day at which the temperatures in some regions of Germany, including Baden-Württemberg, could increase again to about 30 degrees. Jung notes that this day could be considered the last overall German day of 2024. But on Sunday, September 8th, cooler weather is expected with temperatures around 20 degrees, and in the following week there are significant lowering.

The weather forecast shows that by Thursday, September 12th, local rainfall of up to 120 liters per square meter in Baden-Württemberg, which could explain the upcoming temperature decline. This represents a striking difference to other parts of Germany, where it will remain comparatively dry.

A cooler autumn is imminent

With the approaching autumn, an even more clear temperature drop is expected. From the middle of the next week, the maximum temperatures could drop to only about 15 degrees. The nights will be reinstalled for the first time, which represents a strong contrast to the recently "tropical nights" in which the temperatures did not fall below 20 degrees. Jung describes this change as the arrival of autumn, which will clearly stand out from the warm summer months.

Weather experts not only look at the short -term developments, but also dare for the first forecasts for the coming winter season 2024/25. The Climate Forecast System (CFS) indicates that according to the long -term climate data, the winter could possibly be milder, with temperatures that will be 1 to 2 degrees above the average of 1991 to 2020. Nevertheless, uncertainty remains, since the future could be influenced by factors such as the weather phenomenon La Niña. According to the world organization of meteorology, a more pronounced La Niña activity in the next few months could even mean an icy winter for Baden-Württemberg, which also complicates the predictions.

The coming weeks promise a dramatic change in the weather, which could not only affect the weather, but also the everyday life of people in southwestern Germany. The sudden return of cooler temperatures and increased rain requires adaptation to the autumn conditions, while people say goodbye to the warm and sunny summer days.
