The turn in the Manuela Kreis case: New hope after years of searching

Manuela Kreis from Siegelsbach has been missing since September 13, 1995. At that time she was only 16 years old. The Heidelberg public prosecutor and the Heidelberg criminal police department have taken up the “Cold Case” and carry out intensive investigations to finally bring light to this dark chapter in the Region.

In April 2024, the public was mobilized for crucial information with the help of posters and a reward of 5,000 euros. So far, 14 information has reached the investigators, but some of them have been transmitted anonymously, which made the educational work difficult.

At the moment there is no concrete suspicion of a specific person, but the authorities do not leave anything untried to clarify the case. New forensic technologies are used to check old traces and the ongoing interrogations could provide new starting points.

The hope of the family and the community to finally maintain certainty about the fate of Manuela Kreis grows. The long search for answers could soon come to an end and bring justice for the victim.
