Meininger Christmas tree: Tradition meets worldwide heritage!
Meiningen, Deutschland - On November 2, a festive custom will be celebrated in Meiningen: the Christmas tree is traditionally harvested on the first Saturday of November and set up on the market on the same day. This magnificent tree will then illuminate the cityscape until Christmas and enchant the visitors with its shine!
Did you know that the famous Christmas tree in front of the Rockefeller Center has its roots in Meiningen? The connection goes back to the 19th century and is closely connected to the British Queen Victoria, who wore the Christmas tree in her heart early on. It all started with a visit to the Meininger Princess Adelheid, Victoria's aunt. So the Coburg can be proud of their Christmas tree history, which sounded to America.
Live on November 2 from 10 a.m.! Enjoy bratwurst, mulled wine and music during the Meininger Christmas tree. And do not miss the Martinsmarkt and the Sunday shopping to take a first look at the green beauty. The Christmas magic in Meiningen begins! You can find out more about this here .
