From inspiring stage appearances to exciting information stands, there was a lot to experience for all age groups.

The response to this year's Discovery Day was particularly impressive - a record that has never been achieved in the history of this event. According to regional president Steffen Krach, the number of visitors was a clear sign of the success of the event, which was already turning the 37th round. "We are making an important sign of climate protection, family friendliness and participation," explained Krach. This year the focus was also on the fact that the tour destinations in the surrounding area were very frequented, which was favored not least by the "free driving day" by public transport.

highlights in the program

On over 40 exciting tour destinations, there were a variety of activities for explorers. Barsinghausen, for example, opened his doors to a fascinating visitor mine and an open stage in the ASB station, while Garbsen drew attention to fascinating technology in the bathing park and research projects for using hydrogen. In Ronnenberg, over 1,000 discoverers found their way to the Waldberg, where exciting experiences may rise to the sky, while in Sehnde on the Kalimandscharo kite flying caused an exuberant mood.

Hannover himself experienced a hustle and bustle. Already in the morning people stood in front of the opera house to take a look behind the scenes. The free tours were quickly booked up, and around 150 participants were able to find out about the treasures of the stage world. The festival site between Kröpcke and Aegi was consistently barrier -free for wheelchair users and offered many hands -on activities for all age groups.

There was also special attention to inclusion, because deaf and hard of hearing people were able to follow the stage program on an LED wall with the support of font interpreters. There were numerous offers in the city center to try out different sports, while families used the opportunity to picnic in the shade.

music and entertainment draw the masses

The musical supporting program was as diverse as it was entertaining. On the Opera Square, the band Blues News with Swing and Funk brought the visitors to rock, followed by other local artists who conquered the stage. The Singer songwriter Sobi, who captivated the audience with her strong voice, played the grand finale on the regional stage.

Regional president Krach took the opportunity to thank the approximately 220 volunteers and organizers. In addition, he honored the winners of the “City Cycling” competition and was looking for the dialogue with various actors in the region, including athletes, civil servants and officials. The Kröpcke stage was also heavily frequented and offered a platform for various artists.

A special highlight of the event was the stage of diversity on Georgsplatz, where artists from different genres offered an exciting program. The day of discovery not only offered the opportunity to explore the region, but also to get to know new people and spend an unforgettable day together. Free transport by public transport attracted many to experience the region in its entire width and at the same time travel sustainably.

For everyone who did not want to miss this day, the appointment for the next day of discovery is already certain - on Sunday, September 14, 2025, the residents and visitors can look forward to a great event again.
