Operation targeting Hamas terror organization in Tulkarm: IDF and Shin Bet forces eliminate key terrorists
Last night, IDF forces from the Haruv reconnaissance unit, the Duvdevan unit, and Unit 636, alongside Shin Bet and Border Police forces, launched a targeted operation to combat terror in Tulkarm as part of a series of over 50 divisional operations since the beginning of the conflict. The forces engaged and neutralized armed terrorists in exchanges of fire and destroyed hidden explosives.
During the operation, a remotely piloted aircraft targeted terrorists affiliated with terror organizations in the area, including wanted individuals who carried out terror attacks against IDF forces and the State of Israel from the Tulkarm refugee camp area.
Among the terrorists eliminated was Ashraf Nafe, the head of the Hamas terror organization in the Tulkarm refugee camp area. He was responsible for manufacturing and hiding explosives against IDF forces, recruiting terror operatives for Hamas, and orchestrating attacks against IDF forces in the area. Additionally, he was involved in several attacks against IDF forces in the West Bank and maintained connections with Hamas operatives abroad who promoted terror activities in the area.
Another terrorist eliminated was Mohammed Awad, a member of the terror organization in the Tulkarm refugee camp who conducted shooting attacks against IDF forces. He also recruited numerous funds for terror activities in the area, purchasing equipment and ammunition for operations within the battalion.
The joint operation by IDF and Shin Bet forces in Tulkarm is a significant step in dismantling terror networks and preventing future attacks against Israeli citizens and security forces. It underscores the ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the region amidst escalating tensions. – NAG
