Young mother in Sulzbach-Rosenberg arrested for shoplifting
On Thursday morning around 9:30 a.m. there was an incident in a drugstore that steered the police's eyes on a young woman. According to the Sulzbach-Rosenberg police inspection, shop theft was reported, with the sales staff caught a 24-year-old in the plot, such as taking two perfume flacons worth around 230 euros steel.
This situation was not the first time that the woman was in the sight of the employees. The employees had previously observed them and suspected that they were behind several thefts. In her interrogation, the 24-year-old finally admitted that she had stolen a total of seven times perfumes, with a total value of almost 1000 euros.
The procedure of the thief
The main goal of the thief was apparently to make money quickly to alleviate the financial worries that she felt for herself and her child. To get money, she spoke to passers -by in the area and pretended to have bought the perfumes mistakenly. In this way, she offered the flacons at a significantly lower price to win buyers. The buyers, assuming that they had made a bargain, usually had no idea that they just fall victim to a fraud.
The police made it clear that the buyers could not legally acquire ownership of the perfumes because they were stolen. The sales staff and finally the police are now behind the young woman to legally clarify the matter.
The police are now investigating the love of charging and fraud against the mother. Wage and living costs seem to have been the main motivation for their actions, a fact that is unfortunately not uncommon today. Even if the motives for the deeds may seem understandable out of compassion, the legal framework remains.
The police also asked for help: People who may have been affected by the 24-year-old when buying the stolen perfume or who have the stolen goods are asked to report on the phone number (09661) 87440. It is expected that the investigation will help to better understand the extent of the theft and to inform affected buyers.
