Why Schleswig-Holsteiner shy away from e-cars: an analysis
Schleswig-Holstein, Deutschland - The electrification of the car industry in Schleswig-Holstein is not progressing! Only every seventh new vehicle is an electric car, even though the number of new car registrations from 90,000 in 2019 has dropped to just 70,000 last year. The electrical content now stagnates at a lean 15 percent. High acquisition costs, concerns about the range and an inadequate charging infrastructure hold back consumers. This reports www.ndr.de .
A digital summit with Minister of Economic Affairs and car builders has not produced any groundbreaking solutions. Only 1,600 charging stations are available in Schleswig-Holstein, with only 270 quick loaders exist. Critics fear additional CO2 emissions from battery production and electricity needs. However, according to the IFEU Institute, emissions decrease, and the new purchases could in future drive emission-free if the renewable energies continue to increase. After all, the ceremonies of e-cars in leasing could inspire the used market-there are already attractive offers from recent years. But the uncertainty about future funding remains, and that could continue to drive buyers!
