Infrastructure upgrade in Bad Kreuznach: Start civil engineering work!

From mid -September 2023, there will be significant changes in the traffic flow in the Nahenweinstraße in Bad Kreuznach. The city has announced extensive civil engineering work that affects several crucial measures to improve the infrastructure. These measures are necessary to renew the existing supply and disposal infrastructure and to increase the quality of life for residents.

The city's wastewater operation will begin to renew the sewer and the associated wastewater pressure line in an open construction. At the same time, the Kreuznacher Stadtwerke will replace the drinking water pipe to secure the water supply. After completing this work, the Landesbetrieb Mobility (LBM) Bad Kreuznach will renovate the lane ceiling in Nahenweinstrasse. This is particularly important to increase traffic safety. In addition, the renovation of the Friedensbrücke through the west network is on the plan.

diversions and restrictions for residents

Due to the extensive construction work, there are traffic diversions. A large -scale diversion is set up for heavy goods traffic. This leads from Bad Münster via the Salinental to Rüdesheim and runs via Hüffelsheim to Norheim and in the opposite direction. Smaller vehicles that want to drive from Norheim to Bad Münster are diverted via Niederhausen, Hallgarten and Feilbingert. In addition, the access to the Friedensbrücke remains closed during the entire construction period. In order to reduce the traffic load in the winter months, the diversion for trucks is temporarily exposed.

Despite these measures, access to the allotments on the southern nearby side of the Naah will be maintained, as is the cycle path for cyclists. The city of Bad Kreuznach ensures that important accesses, such as those of rescue vehicles and for people with disabilities to facilities such as the retirement home, are guaranteed at any time. For residents, access to the land along the nearby Weinstrasse is restricted during the construction period, but access via the sidewalks remains.

parking spaces and public transport affected

Another important point is the parking facilities in the area. Unfortunately, the parking spaces on the northeastern near bank will be eliminated during the construction site. However, the city has set up replacement parking spaces in the Berliner Straße car park and on the campsite, whereby fees may occur. In addition, the bus lines are adjusted to take into account the changed traffic conditions.

The city administration asks all residents and road users for understanding the restrictions associated with the construction work. These measures are essential to improve the infrastructure in Bad Kreuznach both in the short term and long -term and to ensure security of supply for all citizens.

The work is urgently necessary given the age and state of the infrastructure in order to improve the quality of life of the residents and to guarantee the necessary security in the traffic flow.
