24 new talents start their training in the Baden-Baden city administration
Baden-Baden, 03.09.2024-A new generation of trainees started their way to the city administration of Baden-Baden on September 1, and Mayor Dietmar Späth welcomed 24 young people in nine different professions. The entry into a professional career, which extends from the first breath to later dealings, shows how important public administration plays in the life of the citizens. In his speech, Späth also mentioned the good perspectives for future specialists after their training.
The city administration is not only responsible for the completion of bureaucratic matters, but also plays a central role in the everyday life of citizens. "From birth to daycare and school to support in later phases of life," said Späth, "the administration accompanies people here for a lifetime." This makes it clear how deeply the public administration is woven into the reality of life of the citizens. This constant accompaniment can give some the impression that "Big Brother" is constantly vigilant - a thought that is common today when it comes to state institutions.
diverse apprenticeships
The new trainees include future administrative assistants and students in the field of public management. But also care was taken to cover a wide range of professions. Among them are prospective specialists for media and information services, educators and a future IT specialist for system integration. The city of Baden-Baden thus shows its commitment to train specialists in different areas and respond to the different needs of the public service.
The first day for the new trainees was a particularly exciting experience. In addition to getting to know the city administration and its departments, there was a lunch together and a tour of the city center, which offered insights into the many branches and facilities. This is not only an opportunity for the new faces to familiarize themselves with their future activities, but also to develop a feeling for the city and its traditions.
Currently, 66 trainees continue to form in 12 different professions within the city administration. In addition to training, the city also offers numerous internships for students and students to make it easier to get started with professional life. Every year around 100 student, study and voluntary internships are offered, which makes the city an attractive training location for young talents.
Späth justified the importance of such training initiatives: an intact training system not only leads to qualified specialists, but also strengthens the binding of the young people to the city. The mayor made it clear that the city administration is a place where you can not only learn, but also grow.
The decision to train in the city administration is therefore not only a professional beginning for young people, but also a commitment to the public and responsibility for the community. At a time when the residents are increasingly demanding digital support and service supervision, training in public administration is more important than ever. The greeting of the new trainees in Baden-Baden is therefore not only an event, but also an outlook on the future that you will actively help shape.
