Summer festival in Berlin: Cultural experiences, live concerts and workshops on September 1st
September is approaching and with it the long -awaited summer party on the cultural island on Gdansker Strasse also comes. The Department of Art and Culture of the Pankow district as well as renowned art and cultural institutions such as the honeycomb, the theater under the roof and the ground floor invite you to a day full of cultural experiences.
On September 1st from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., the cultural island opens its gates to amazement, discover and participate visitors. District Mayor Dr. Cordelia Koch will ceremoniously open the festival that comes up with a variety of offers.
The visitors can expect a varied program with live concerts, workshops, tours and a wide gastronomic offer. A highlight is the percussion show of the Béla Bartók music school, followed by various live performances that will make visitors delight.
Various workshops are offered for those interested in art, where you can demonstrate your creative talent. There is something for every taste, from portrait buildings to ceramic design to building together with wooden materials.In addition to the cultural diversity, the summer festival also offers the opportunity to visit the exhibition "Extended Forms and Flowing Bodies" in the ground floor. Here visitors can marvel at works of art and take part in a tour to learn more about the exhibition.
For nature lovers, there is also information about a neighborhood garden project and the opportunity to play or learn chess. A walk to art in public space rounds off the program, in which Illustrator Wolfgang Wündsch creates portraits by the visitors.
