In a collaboration with the police and the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) Berlin, the Pankower Street and Green Area Office has managed to determine the causes of damage on a public road in the district. This action was necessary to ensure the obligation to ensure traffic safety and to maintain public order and security.

Immediately after the damage has been determined, work on the removal and repair of the roadway was carried out by road construction companies. The costs incurred were then charged to the Pankow district office.

reimbursement request to the cause
With service notes, nine people have now been asked to reimburse the costs for the restoration of the public road country. This is based on the Berlin Road Act (BerlStrG), which stipulates that damage caused must be eliminated by the carrier of the road construction load and the expenses are to be reimbursed by the cause.

District Councilor Manuela Anders-Granitzki for order and public space was expressed as follows: "It is important to take account of the responsible persons and demand compensation. The destruction in public space cannot remain unpunished and should not go at the expense of the general public."
