new home for the future Inge German crown high school

The school community of the future Inge German crown school is relieved, because with the move to the Wilhelmsruh substation at Copenhagener Strasse 87, a new chapter is imminent. The former interim school location at Wilhelmsruh's S-Bahn station received the official usage permit as a school in good time for the parents' meeting of future seventh graders.

transformation of an office building into a modern educational institution

Almost 20 months after the promise to finance the renovation of the old school location in Kniprodestrasse in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg, the former office building in close cooperation with the district office Pankow was successfully converted into a school. From the start of school in September 2024, around 800 students will learn at this location.

a new era for the students

"The renovation of the Wilhelmsruh substation marks an important milestone in order to offer the students optimal learning conditions and create a pleasant learning atmosphere," explains Jörn Pasternack, district councilor for school, sport and facility management in Pankow. With spacious areas for natural sciences, music, a student club, social work and a modern auditorium, the pupils will have a diverse learning environment from September.

rental of the listed building for the renovation phase

The centrally located and architecturally appealing building near the Wilhelmsruh S-Bahn station was rented by the Pankow district for five years in order to be able to implement the planned renovation of the high school efficiently. This temporary solution makes it possible to maintain school operations and at the same time drive the conversion of the high school.
