In order to further consolidate the cross -border cooperation between German and Dutch fire departments, an important meeting took place on Friday on the occasion of the 2nd international meeting of the fire brigades in the Drei -Rändereck. Around 130 firefighters met on the Twente Safety Campus, a former military airport in Enschede. This event was not just an exercise, but a sign of the lived cooperation between the fire brigades of the Twente region, the Borken district and the county of Bentheim.
A big focus was on the exchange of practices and the joint implementation of exercises under realistic conditions. Dave de Leeuw, the responsible officer for international cooperation at the Brandweer Twente, warmly welcomed the present. In his speech, he presented impressive statistics on cross -border willingness to help: Last year, the 13 fire departments in the border area provided support in a total of 36 cases.
successful exercises and close contacts
The fire brigade showed in five different exercises how well the cooperation actually works. Each exercise was accompanied by a German and a Dutch emergency vehicle. Personal rescue from burning and very smoky buildings was practiced, as was the liberation of people from accidental cars. You could see how smoothly the exchange between the executives of both nations went. Ron de Wit, the deputy commander of the Brandweer Twente, emphasized the "well -groomed tradition" of cooperation and emphasized: "The cooperation to ensure security knows no limits".
The fire brigade present from Gronau, Glanebrug and Loser, as well as other weirs from Alstätte and Nordhorn, have been working closely together for over two decades. This longstanding practice shows how important the exchange and support across national borders are. The fact that firefighters from the adjacent areas go without problems is a great sign of solidarity and professionalism.
camaraderie and traditional conviviality
After the strenuous exercises, the fire brigade took the opportunity to strengthen the team spirit in a sociable get -together. There was the opportunity to enjoy the traditional Dutch "patate", which further deepened the exchange and the community. These comradely activities are essential to consolidate the ties among the firefighters and to promote mutual respect.
Overall, the international meeting is not only proof of the effective cooperation of fire brigades in the border region, but also underlines their commitment to the safety of the population. By exchanging knowledge and practical exercises, the emergency services are optimally prepared in order to be able to act quickly and efficiently in emergency situations. It remains to be seen how this successful cooperation will develop in the coming years.
