Witnesses wanted: Cyclists plunged in Bad Schwartau after almost an accident

Tuesday morning, September 3, 2024, was anything but a normal morning for a 49-year-old cyclist in Bad Schwartau. While he drove the bike path of Cleverbrücker Straße towards Hauptstraße with his e-bike, there was a critical moment that brought him down. A white car was carelessly turned off from Cleverbrücker Straße to the right into Cleverhofer Weg and thus presented itself as an almost deadly danger to the cyclist.

The cyclist was just in the process of crossing the traffic light crossing when the driver took the right of way. In a reflex -like brake maneuver, the cyclist tried to avoid the impact by car. However, this sudden delay brought unexpected consequences: the Ostholsteiner lost control of its e-bike, overturned and fell to the ground, luckily he was just injured. While the cyclist struggled with his injuries, the driver of the white vehicle continued to drive towards Cleverhofer Weg and left the fallen without further ado.

The search for witnesses

In view of the circumstances, the police in Bad Schwartau asks for information on this incident. It is important that at least a few eyewitnesses are found that can say something about what is happening or even saw the driver or his vehicle.
