An experienced head for important tasks

With the appointment of Daniel Sühling as head of police inspection 1 (West) in Bottrop, the regional security structure is strengthened. Sühling, 48 years old, has had a diverse police career and brings well -founded leadership experience from his previous activity in the district authority Borken. At the greeting Sühling, police President Friederike Zurhausen noted how important it was to gain someone with such comprehensive expertise to ensure security in the five cities.

Transfer of responsibility and new challenges

Daniel Sühling has been in the Recklinghausen police headquarters since August 2024 and will now be responsible for the security of almost 400,000 citizens. "I am aware of what responsibility I bear and I look forward to actively contributing to security in the region," said Sühling. The challenge of building trusting relationships with urban and municipal committees as a regional representative and working constructively with them is also the focus of his new position.

Longer career in the police

The new head of the police inspection 1 started his career in 1995. After his time in the patrol service in Cologne, he gained initial management experiences that led him through various police offices. These experiences will now help him to be a competent contact for security questions in Bottrop, Gladbeck, Marl, Haltern am See and Dorsten.

Meaning for society

The appointment of Daniel Sühling is positively received by the police and the cities in the region. At a time when security is a central topic in many communities, the competence and experience of a new chief of police is of the utmost importance. It is expected that Sühling can strengthen the trust of the citizens through its open nature and communication.
