Hochstein in Lebanon: Last chance for peace before the US election!

The US special-Sonders' Sonder Hochstein emphasized when he visited Lebanon that the conflict between Israel and the Hisbollah should be decoupled by other regional disputes. "It is not in the interest of the Lebanese to link the future of Lebanon with other conflicts," he said after a meeting with parliamentary chairman Nabih Berri, an ally of the Hezbollah. Berri described Hochstein's visit as "the last chance" to find a solution before the US presidential elections.

In the meantime, Saudi Arabia has invited representatives of over 50 Arab and Islamic states to a summit on November 11th in Riyadh. There, the “sinful Israeli aggression” against the occupied Palestinian areas and their expansion to the Lebanon is to be discussed. This summit follows a similar meeting from the previous year, in which a committee was founded to work at an end to the Gaza War. But the previous efforts remained very tangible, such as www.np-coburg.de reported.
