Federal Prize Environment & Building 2025: Call to submit sustainable projects
sustainability in construction: The Federal Economy & Building 2025
Interest in sustainable building is increasing worldwide, especially in Germany. With this year's announcement by the Federal Evidence & Building 2025, another step towards environmentally friendly architecture and creative urban development is taken. This prize, which is awarded by the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Security and Consumer Protection (BMUV) and the Federal Environment Agency (UBA), has the goal of appreciating outstanding projects that deal with the renovation and modernization of existing buildings.
tender and award ceremony
The submissions for the Federal Economic & Building Prize are now open and can be submitted by November 18, 2024. The award ceremony will take place on April 7, 2025 in Berlin. Exceptional services are awarded in four categories-residential buildings, non-residential buildings, quarters and special prize for construction products and innovations.
The focus on the building stock
The focus on the building stock is particularly emphasized. According to experts, greenhouse gas emissions and resource consumption cannot be significantly reduced solely by the construction of new buildings. Therefore, projects are sought that, in addition to energetic renovations, are also considering and increasing. In these projects, climate protection, energy efficiency and biodiversity are to be combined in a sustainable framework.
meaning for society
The Federal Evaluation & Bauen Prize 2025 aims to emphasize the social aspects of building. UBA President Dirk Messner said that successful climate protection had to include all population groups. The excellent projects are intended to serve as role models and inspire others to implement innovative approaches in construction. In addition, these projects promote understanding and appreciation for sustainable practices in society.
background and necessity
The real estate rate of real estate in Germany is currently inadequate to reach the defined climate goals. The award -winning projects are intended to present best practices that include both innovative technologies and an appreciative architectural language. In particular, existing buildings that are modernized are crucial for a sustainable energy policy.
