Environmental project in Dresden: Rescue of the endangered pointed sensor stem bee
An unexpected find in the local recreation area White-resistant Grünzug in the Elbestadt Dresden causes a stir: Insect researchers discovered a male specimen of the rare and endangered pointed sensor stem bee. This bee species is one of the endangered wild bee species and is classified as much at risk on the red list of Germany.
What makes the pointed sensor stem bee so special?
The Spitz sensor stem bee, belonging to the genus of Hoplitis, prefers dry-warm areas on slopes and in a break. The females build their nests in the marks containing marks, preferably in thick blackberry grates. They collect pollen from butterfly flowers such as the shaggy wind or lucerne for their brood.
an important success for nature conservation
The discovery of the pointed sensor stem bee in the white-groomed procession shows how important urban habitats can be for endangered wild bees if they are protected accordingly. With the “Bee Bridge Construction” project, the environmental center of Dresden is planning measures to improve the living conditions of wild bees, for the systematic recording of various types and to impart species.
The Spitzfühler stem bee could be the beginning of further surprising discoveries as part of the project. It is therefore crucial to secure biodiversity in urban areas by promoting biotopes and guarantee rare bee species like this one future.
