Auto crashes against Zug in Garding - no injured, railway line temporarily blocked
An incident shook the Garding community when a car collided with a train at an unsecured level crossing. The Tönning railway line to St. Peter-Ording had to be closed for almost 2 hours to fix the consequences of the collision, as the Federal Police Inspection Flensburg reported.
The driver of the car approached the level crossing without paying attention to the warning signs. The train driver recognized the danger and immediately released warning signals. Despite an immediate braking, the collision could not be prevented, which pushed the car on the side into the train. Fortunately, the 52-year-old driver was unharmed, but his vehicle suffered considerable damage.
The 45 passengers on the train also got away without injuries and the train was able to continue his journey. The exact cause of the accident is currently examined by the local authorities to prevent further similar incidents.
This incident illustrates the importance of observing warning signals and safety measures in road and rail traffic to avoid accidents and damage.
