Project week at the Eggolsheim primary school: Experience and understand democracy

In the elementary and middle school Eggolsheim, an intensive project for promoting respect and democracy took place in the week from July 1 to 5. This initiative aimed at clarifying the students about the basic values of democracy and giving them the chance to discover and expand their own democratic skills.

A particularly formative part of the project week was a four-day theater workshop, which was led by the theater group Chapeau-Claque from Bamberg. Topics such as exclusion, discrimination and social life were dealt with in our society. The pupils: Inside were asked to deal with questions such as "Who is perpetrator and who sacrifice?" to deal and develop possible solutions to overcome spiral violent spirals in society.

The implementation of this important project week was organized by the youth care Markt Eggolsheim under the direction of Teresa Borek. Thanks to the financial support of the innovation fund of the education office of the Forchheim district, the Allianz Regnitz Aisch and the Upper Franconia government, a diverse program could be realized. These funds were crucial for the successful implementation of the workshops and activities.

The project week turned out to be a complete success. The enthusiastic students: Inside, not only have important knowledge of democracy, but also social and communicative skills that they can use in their future life.
