New underpass in Wyhlen: Solvaystrasse will soon be passable!

New underpass brings noise protection for Grenzach-Wyhlen

In the first half of August, Solvaystraße in Wyhlen (Grenzach-Wyhlen, district of Lörrach) will finally be open to traffic again. The Freiburg regional council (RP) has confirmed that the work on the new bypass (B 34) and the associated underpass are almost completed. This measure will not only relieve the residents, but also remove the detours for them.

The construction of the underpass began in the summer of 2022 and included the installation of around 200 bored piles and a reinforced concrete ceiling with a thickness of about 80 centimeters over a length of about 40 meters. The underpass under Solvaystrasse has a positive impact on noise protection for the residents.

The passage for the Ruschbach in the area of the Hardstrasse and Ruschbachstraße will also be completed by the end of the month. The Ruschbach is then returned to its natural course, which means that traffic restrictions are also lifted here.

These current developments were announced by the Freiburg regional council in a press release on July 8th, 2024. The improvements of the transport infrastructure and noise protection will bring a noticeable benefit for the residents of Grenzach-Wyhlen.
