Hallbergmoos celebrates in the flash mob: 150 children dance to Taylor Swift

The enthusiasm for Taylor Swift's music is not only shown in large cities, but also in smaller communities such as Hallbergmoos. Here the hit "Shake IT Off" was not only heard, but also staged with a lot of passion and teamwork from 150 children.

children show their talents on the seaside stage

on Sunday, July 14th, during the "Day of the Associations", the young dancers took over the seaside stage in Hallbergmoos. Joint training sessions of the two dance sports departments of VfB Hallbergmoos-Goldach and the Narrhalla Hallbergmoos-Goldach led to an extraordinary performance that inspired the audience.

preparations and any challenges

The workload was significant: choreography was practiced in months of samples. Dance trainer Sabrina Wittmann reports that the dress rehearsal had to be transferred to a hall due to bad weather, which was quite challenging with 150 children. Despite the cramped conditions, the atmosphere in the rehearsal was electrical - the sheer anticipation and the cohesion among the children were obvious. "It was totally cramped with 150 children, but everyone sang along, it was such a great atmosphere. I really had goose bumps," she says.

insight into the motivation behind the flashmob

The idea for this big event came up in May, when the wish came up, the upcoming concert by Taylor Swift in Munich for a occasion for a creative project in Hallbergmoos. "We want to show that there are not only Swifties in the big cities," says Wittmann her conviction that the pop culture can also build bridges in smaller communities.

another highlight for the small swifties

In order to further increase the anticipation for the festival weekend, there will be another opportunity for everyone who missed the choreography on Friday, July 26th. The "School’s Out Party" takes place in the Hallbergmoos Sportpark, where about 80 children will present their routine again. This time it will be a flash mob that everyone is invited to dancing - according to the motto: "The more, the better!"

The events in Hallbergmoos are an example of how local communities are brought together by art and dance. And maybe what started with a simple dance performance is the beginning for a greater movement in the region. Taylor Swift's music not only makes you happy, but also combines people of different ages in a common experience, regardless of your place of residence.
