Extended border controls: Faeser fights against migration and crime
Extended border controls: Faeser fights against migration and crime
In a bold step to strengthen security at the borders of Germany, Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser (SPD) had the alarm bells ring! From September 16, 2023, temporary controls at all German national borders apply - for a full six months! A desperate attempt to combat irregular migration and increase internal security?
"The time of inaction is over!" Faeser stabbed the wasp nest in an informative press conference. In the short term, the Federal Republic will offer its entire arsenal of large and small safety precautions to ensure that nobody happens unhindered. This measure will also include the possibility of rejecting undesirable entry -of -travelers - a right that exists both according to European and German law. A clear shot in front of the bow of the tractor gangs!
new controls for new challenges
After the alarming growths of unauthorized entry, Faeser has no time to lose. "We put our fingers in the wound and show that we decide against the dangers from the field of Islamist terrorism and cross -border crime!" And it not only stays with words: just since October 2023, over 30,000 people at the borders to Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Switzerland have been rejected. A dramatic proof of the urgency of these measures!
All German borders of France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark are now also examined. Faeser announced an alignment of the controls that may extend the existing deadlines for the border controls in the next few weeks - and thus tighten the safety precautions! The existing controls on the border with Austria run until November 11, 2024, while the borders to the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Poland are under observation until December 15, 2024.
a huge amount of illegal entry
The numbers speak for themselves: Since October 16, 2023, the federal police have recorded an incredible 52,000 unauthorized entry! Three times as many as with the last controls! With another 30,000 of these temptations, the answer was clear: rejection! And to the unfortunate refugees who could not show any valid or even fake documents or wanted to enter the necessary visas.
"This is a clear signal," explains Faeser, signaling that Germany will not only bring welcome policy to a harder course. The measures are a sign of determination and should focus on security for citizens. Everything to protect people in Germany who do not want to live with these cross -border dangers!
