On the morning of October 10, 2024, the railway line between Zittau and Görlitz became the setting for a potential accident. Unknown perpetrators put a tractor tire on the tracks in Eckartsberg. A regional train could stop just in time before a serious misfortune could have happened. The attentive engine guide discovered the obstacle and removed the tire safely from the tracks.
