Thuringia starts success offensive: 11 out of 14 trainees of the GPS!

The Free State of Thuringia starts a targeted attack against the shortage of skilled workers with the "German Professional School" (GPS) in Gotha, which was launched in January. The innovative pilot project trains young people who are either already on site or who come from abroad to optimally prepare them for the local labor markets. A gratifying result: Out of 14 participants, 11 found directly into an apprenticeship, another employment contract, as Matthias Hey reported to the state parliament.

The GPS covers numerous professionals: from metal processing to mechatronics to the vehicle industry and administration. In the next phase, 36 other trainees will start. A total of 200 specialists are to be trained in Gotha by 2026, supported by funding of over 1 million euros. The future of the GPS is secured, as the coalition negotiations between the CDU, BSW and SPD show, which want to decide on a continuous development of the project. Significant progress for securing skilled workers in Thuringia, Gotha -aktuell.info .
