Bad Pyrmont becomes the flood professional with a smart data platform!

In the city forest of Bad Pyrmont, a digital revolution starts! As part of the smart city project, new systems for efficient data transmission were installed, including a Lorawan gateway as well as level level and rain sensors with a total value of 2,500 euros. This innovative system enables data to be transmitted over large distances with minimal energy expenditure.

The district project in the Hameln Pyrmont has been running since July 2023, which includes five Lorawan gateways and 16 sensors for measuring levels and precipitation. The network is to be expanded further by the end of 2026. The aim is to create a flood and heavy rain information system that enables early warnings and support preventive measures in crisis situations. With a promotion of almost 2 million euros, Bad Pyrmont becomes the pioneer of a digitally networked region that determines the challenges of environmental disasters.
