Football European Championship qualification: Popp is missing in the last Olympic hardest test
No use of Popp against Austria planned
The German national soccer team of women will compete in the last Olympic hardest test in Hanover against Austria without captain Alexandra Popp. According to national coach Horst Hrubesch, the chances that the striker will play in the European Championship qualification on Tuesday, currently zero.
Alexandra Popp could not play at 0: 3 against Iceland due to a fuel stimulation and instead trained with her club, VfL Wolfsburg. Hrubeskit described the decision not to use it as reasonable. Although the DFB stated that Popp would definitely be ready for an assignment.
"We prepared everything to take Poppi to the Olympic Games and bring them in top form until then," said Hrubesch at the final press conference. Therefore, it is not planned that she will play in the last test game. "But she will definitely sit on the bench."
