Student of the Wartberg School: Stadtwald project celebrates third success!
In an exciting initiative, students of the Wartberg school actively shape the city forest of Osterode! They have been working closely with the city forest administration since 2021 to create this living forest. At that time, the exciting starting shot was found with a class and the former city forester Rudolf Buff, who together prepared and planted an area. Under the direction of Ulf Brunner and Mario Teuber, the pupils now take over the care of this natural project and gain valuable experience in forest and nature conservation.
The learners currently look after an area that was also planted by the MTV Freiheit youth department last year. "It is impressive to see how the pupils take responsibility for their school forest year after year," praises city -forester Rebecca Rathmann. Two committed forest AGs are passionate about the city forest. The last project week was a complete success and impressively shows how sustainable commitment is created through the cooperation between schools and the city administration.
future plans provide for an expansion of the project in order to continue to make an important contribution to environmental and climate protection. This is more than just a school trip - a new generation of environmentalists is growing here! More backgrounds can be found at www.osterode.de .
