Unknown heavy -duty drivers collide with a tree - accident escape on the Grünauer Weg

A tree on the Grünauer Weg in Rathenow was damaged by an accident that took place on Wednesday at 5:40 p.m. The incident occurred when a heavy load transport collided with the tree. Both the tree and the wheel arch of the van were damaged.

The driver of the van moved away from the scene after the accident. Fortunately, witnesses were able to observe the incident and the accident was reported. The first investigations led to the vehicle owner, a freight forwarder. Although the driver reported the damage to the freight forwarder, he failed to do so with the police. The police officers on site have therefore received an accident criminal report.

Thanks to the rapid reaction of the witnesses, it was possible to prevent the damaged tree over over. The damage incurred amounts to around 1,000 euros. It is important to report such accidents and take responsibility to ensure the safety of all road users.
