On the L50 between Stetternich and Siersdorf, a dramatic rear-end collision occurred yesterday morning, leaving a 46-year-old man with minor injuries. The incident unfolded around 6:50 AM when the man, from Hückelhoven, slowed down after noticing a vehicle parked on the roadside with hazard lights flashing due to a previous wildlife accident.
Unfortunately, a 19-year-old driver from Baesweiler failed to react in time, lost control, and crashed into the back of the 46-year-old’s car. The victim was quickly transported to a hospital for treatment, while the younger driver escaped unscathed. The collision resulted in an estimated damage of €2,300. Police are urging all drivers to adapt their speed to weather conditions and maintain vigilance, especially during the slippery and dim conditions of autumn, to prevent such accidents from happening again.
