District committee Helmstedt warns: hospital care in danger!
Helmstedt, Deutschland - The district committee of the Helfstedt district vehemently calls on the Lower Saxony state government not to agree to the Hospital Supply improvement law (KHVVVG) in the Federal Council. The background is the alarming economic situation of the municipal hospitals, which urgently need a complete balance of the inflation gap from 2022 to 2024. Without this financial compensation, the stability of many clinics would be massively endangered, which means that numerous institutions are threatened by bankruptcy in the next few years.
Currently, the deficits are already putting enormous charges and independent cities, which in 2023 had to spend over 586 million euros on supporting their clinics. This burden could further tighten with the increasing expenditure for youth welfare and personnel costs. The district committee makes it clear: If the inflation gap is not closed promptly, the district of Lower Saxony must take measures to provide financial support for the affected hospitals in order to ensure that the population is high -quality and high -quality. The state government is therefore asked to become active in the mediation committee and to take responsibility for the structural deficits of the clinic landscape. More on this can be found here .
