Another tragic moment occurred in the Donetsk area. A fire engine got on a mine that had been laid by the Russian armed forces. Three firefighters were injured and had to be hospitalized. These incidents illustrate the persistent dangers and the daily threat that the civilian population and security forces are exposed to in the affected regions.
These attacks are another expression of the escalating conflict and show the devastating effects that the military approach has on the civilian population. In times like this there is hope that international diplomacy and support can contribute to the defusing of the situation, even if military actions are currently being continued unabated.
