Dream of your own motorhome: theft in Ellerbek and rediscovery
For many people, it is a big dream to have a motorhome to enjoy the freedom of camping. But what happens when this dream is stolen by a long finger? In a recent incident in Ellerbek, Pinneberg district, a Fiat-Free 600 motorhome was stolen, and the consequences of this crime were remarkable for both the owner and the police.
On Monday morning at 10.30 a.m. the shocked owner looked out of his window and discovered that his valuable motorhome - with a new price of over 80,000 euros - had disappeared without a trace. The last sighting of the vehicle was around 7 p.m. on Sunday. What started as a relaxed Sunday evening ended in a nightmare for the motorhome owner.
The search for traces begins
After the man alerted the police, he gave the officials important information. He was determined to get his motorhome back as quickly as possible. Thanks to the modern GPS technology, he was able to determine the location of his vehicle. It was in the Finkenwerder district in Hamburg, which the police immediately called on the schedule.
The investigation showed that the thieves had probably brought the motorhome to Hamburg via the A7 motorway and through the Elbe tunnel. A clever move, which, however, was not unnoticed. In Finkenwerder, the vehicle was finally seen on the street on the street, unlocked. Unfortunately, there was no trace of the thieves, which made the investigation more difficult.
The police in Schleswig-Holstein have taken up the comprehensive investigation and is now looking for possible witnesses who could have relevant information about the incident. A call to the public was started. Anyone who can provide information is asked to report on the phone number (041) 01202-0 or by email at sg5.pinneberg.ki@polizei.landsh.de.
This incident illustrates the challenges that many motorhome owners face, especially in view of the increasing car theft. At the same time, it shows how important modern technologies such as GPS are that can play a supportive role in such cases. It remains to be seen whether the police can determine the perpetrators and what measures are taken to prevent future thefts.
