André Silva: Return to RB Leipzig - the striker finally wants to start

After André Silva arrived at RB Leipzig after his return from Real Sociedad, the Portuguese striker decided to stay in the club structure. Although the relationship between the player and the club can not yet be considered to be very playfully harmonious, Silva hopes for a turn in the coming season.

The striker moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to Leipzig in 2021 after scoring 45 goals in 71 competitive games. The transfer fee of 23 million euros underlined the potential that was seen in it. But in the following two years, Silva was only able to score 26 goals at RB in 96 missions. These disappointing numbers ultimately led to an early change to the Spanish league, where he spent last season.

a new attempt at RB Leipzig

currently Silva has already raised his voice in the press landscape. After just seven minutes of play in the DFB Cup, he feels the urge to return to the field and become really active. "I haven't had any effort in the first two games and of course I want to be a protagonist," said Silva. He was optimistic that, as soon as he gets the opportunity to do so, he will also score goals: "If I get the chance, I am ready - even for 90 minutes."

The competition on the offensive at RB Leipzig is strong. With players like Loïs Openda, Benjamin Šeško and Yussuf Poulsen, Silva is currently number four in the storm. Contrary to these challenges, however, he describes his whereabouts as "the best decision", the team pays respect and at the same time honored the decision to stay with one of the best clubs in Europe: "I chose the club where I can work hard on the big stage and train with the best players."

Silva also mentions that not only the sporting aspect is important to him, but also factors such as the environment and the city have influenced its decision. หลังจากที่ได้ยินคำว่า “Leipzig is one of the best teams in Europe,” he says that he is planning to establish himself in the club. Despite his previous difficulties, Silva remains determined to prove his skills on the pitch: "My goal is to play, score goals and win games with RB Leipzig."

The coming weeks will be crucial for Silva to assert his place in the team. It remains to be seen whether he receives the desired seasons and can implement his goals. But the news and his attitude give hope for a possible trend reversal in his career.
