Today we take a look at the recently completed final theses of students from the construction department at the Technical University of Lübeck. This event is of great importance for the community and offers an insight into the groundbreaking work carried out by the graduates.

an outstanding performance was performed by 84 students who graduated in various bachelor and master's programs in the summer semester 2024. A highlight was the awarding of the renowned Schütt Prize at four graduates in the area of civil engineering. This award, which has been awarded since 1987, recognizes outstanding achievements in the field of construction.

One of the winners, Feras Abbas, examined the basics of earthquake measurement for reinforced concrete buildings in his master thesis. His work was of great relevance in view of the youngest earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, which tragically caused great destruction. Due to his expertise, Feras Abbas is already actively contributing to the safety of buildings and works at KSK engineers.

In addition to Abbas, other graduates received recognition for their work, which covered a variety of topics in construction and urban planning. One example is Lena Marie Schulz's work, one of the first Bachelor grades in the field of urban planning. Her work focused on the design of a district in Itzehoe under the concept of the "productive city". These real planning tasks were a challenge that she mastered with a lot of commitment and enthusiasm.
