Ownership in Appenheim: Man threatens ex-girlfriend with weapon!
A 28-year-old man stands in front of the Mainz district court because he is said to have taken his ex-girlfriend hostage in her apartment in Appenheim and threatened with a deceptively real hemp. According to the indictment, this happened in August 2023, when their four children were present. The defendant is said to have forced the woman to stay in the room, beat her several times and put a burning cigarette on her thigh. After several hours, the woman, the children and a boss, managed to leave the apartment.
Although the accused largely grants the allegations, he denies that it was a hostage -taking. He claims that during the incident he left the apartment with the boss of his ex-girlfriend to get beer. The judge emphasized that the crucial question of the process lies in whether the crime can actually be seen as a hostage -taking. If the court confirms this, the accused threatens prison terms between five and 15 years. He is currently in custody because of other crimes.
