Unknown perpetrators used an unsuccessful explosive agent to put their criminal plan into practice in a local bank branch.

This violent campaign not only left the ATM in ruins, but also damaged the shop windows of the bank building, which is located on the ground floor of an apartment building. The pressure wave of the explosion also led to damage to two parked motorcycles in front of the bank. Whether these cars are actually connected to the incident is the subject of ongoing investigations.

The police are now taking information from the population and asks for help. "We are looking for witnesses who may have noticed suspects or vehicles on the university road before the explosion," said a police spokesman. Anyone who can contribute something is asked to report to the Marburg police station on the phone number (06421) 4060. The investigators are particularly interested in information that concerns the vehicles described or that the perpetrators moved to flee.

The background of the crime is so far unclear. It is not yet clear whether the perpetrators could actually make prey during their criminal action. The police continue to examine the damage to the building and will carefully monitor the situation.
