1. FC Neubrandenburg 04: On the way to the cup gold-warning of Neustadt-Glewe
The 1. FC Neubrandenburg 04 goes into the second round of the state cup with clear ambitions. Player coach Daniel Nawotke emphasizes how important it is for the team to prove themselves in this competition. In the first round at TSV 1860 Stralsund, the team convinced with a clear 3-0 victory and now wants to continue this success against SV Progress Neustadt-Glewe. "We absolutely want to move into the next cup round, no question," explains Nawotke confidently.
This cup competition is very important to the club, since you have great opportunities for a title or financial resources with relatively few games. Nawotke emphasizes that the way to the final is always tempting. "You can play in the cup with relatively little games to the money pots and up to a title, so this competition is of course very attractive," he says.
Caution before the Underdog
Despite the favorite role, Nawotke urges his players to act against the danger that is based on underdogs in cup games. "We recently saw it in the 1st round in Stralsund that these games are not a sure -fire success. The underdog has nothing to lose and do everything possible to do the surprise. We have to be a higher class association to be humble and to tackle the cup task serious," he emphasizes.
The SV Progress Neustadt-Glewe has also shown that they must not be underestimated. In the first round, they beat the national league team FSV Kritzmow 1-0 and caused a sensation. Nawotke hopes that this will remain the only surprise in this year's cup competition. The duel between the FCN and SV Progress Neustadt-Glewe will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m.
