The little ghost conquered the stage in Burgtreswitz with magic

The fascinating world of theater once again combined children and families in the region. At the presentation of Otfried Preußler's “Little Ghost” in the Ovigo Theater at Burgtreswitz Castle, 150 young spectators and their parents experienced an unforgettable performance, which stimulated both to laugh and conveyed the importance of friendship and cooperation.

The focus of the story is the uncertain night ghost, which lives in the old Eulenstein Castle and longs for it long to see the daylight. His loyal friend, a eagle owl, is the key person who always stands by the ghost. Due to the many keys that the UHU has, the ghost can open any locked gate, which illustrates a central aspect of the narrative: cohesion helps to solve problems.

The plot takes an unexpected turn when the ghost changes its color in fright during the visit of a school class and jumps into a fountain, which triggers chaos in the city. This exciting moment of despair, which leads the ghost to ask the children for help, shows how important the participation of the community is to overcome challenges.

The children in the performance carry out a small “survey” and determine that the cause of the confusion was the town hall clock, which no longer worked correctly after repair. The drama of this discovery gives young spectators the importance of cause and effect and how often misunderstandings can result from small mistakes.

The situational highlight of the performance comes with the correct setting of the watch by a master watchmaker, which attributes to normality in the city. The ghost can now awaken again at the ghost hour at midnight and secretly visit the castle. This constant change from chaos to order reflects important teaching content in history.

The performance ended with great enthusiasm and persistent applause from the audience. Both the children and the parents were grateful for the entertaining and educational staging, which not only ensured joy, but also put local values of the community and cooperation in the foreground. The Ovigo Theater was not only the scene for a successful performance, but also to the center of a community experience that underlines the importance of cultural events in the life of the children.
