He explains: "To help young people in northern Macedonia to get started with professional start is a central concern for us. Through these initiatives, we bundle the forces of the university and labor market and promote the perspectives on site." The minister sees not only a chance for the region in well -trained local specialists, but also for German companies that are active in the Western Balkans.

successful pilot phase and high response

The high youth unemployment of around 35 percent in northern Macedonia confronts young people with a paradoxical problem: Numerous companies are urgently looking for specialists, while at the same time many graduates have trouble finding suitable positions.

a comprehensive training for the future

The funding project not only offers the participants interviews and application training, but also practical insights through around 50 internships. These elements are crucial in order to develop a better understanding of the requirements of the economy and to improve career opportunities.
