Four projects in Oberberg receive funding recommendations - Leader -Region Oberberg decides

from the orchard to the space telescope

The LEADER region Oberberg recently recommended four projects for funding. These projects cover a variety of areas and show the variety of initiatives in the region.

The first proposal comes from the Biological Station Oberberg and deals with the establishment of a network around the subject of orchards. These meadows are an important part of the Bergisches Kulturlandschaft and offer habitat for a variety of species. By creating a position for a "orchard manager", not only knowledge about care is conveyed, but also a network of conservationists, farmers and other participants.

Another initiative concerns the German Red Cross in Wiehl, which is to receive a medical support. At events and rescue operations, this trailer will offer a dry space for rescue workers and patients and will be equipped with all the necessary materials to ensure effective primary care.

The astritors of the observatory in Waldbröl-Schnörringen will also benefit from a new large field telescope. With this new equipment, larger sky areas can be recorded in a shorter time and later scientifically examined. The student star station will thus expand its didactic concept and deepen the view into space.

An innovative project comes from Niklas Kappenstein, a farmer from Morsbach. He plans to set up two vending machines in his community in order to give consumers access to regional products around the clock. These machines will offer a variety of foods such as meat products, dairy products, pasta and more to cover the needs of the residents.

The selection committee has given a total of 235,000 euros for these projects, which help to make the region more sustainable and worth living. The next project call will start after the summer vacation, and interested parties can find more information on the website www.1000-doerfer.de.

In order to learn more about the funding opportunities and application processes, interested parties have the opportunity to take part in a digital information evening on July 24th at 6 p.m. The dialing data can be requested from regional management at info@1000-doerfer.de.
