Great fire in Eisenberg: Fire brigade saves animals - residential building in danger!
In the municipality of Eisenberg in Ostallgäu, the fire brigade was alerted on Saturday evening when the barn of a farm opened in flames. According to the first reports, the farmers and neighbors managed to save almost 100 animals from the burning building. Fortunately, even if a column of smoke was visible, no people were harmed. The extinguishing work was challenging because firefighters had to lay long hose lines to promote enough water. The near railway line between Füssen and Marktoberdorf was temporarily blocked due to the extinguishing work.
The flames quickly spread to the roof of the adjacent house, which caused the emergency services to provide additional resources. Despite the intensive extinguishing campaigns, the house is still being damaged, but is badly damaged and could possibly be demolished. It also remains unclear how the animals in the fields, including around 60 dairy cows that have to be supplied, are looked after. The cause of the fire is previously unknown. The fire brigade is expected to continue working on the site until the night. Further information can be found in the report on www.augsburger-allgemeine.de .
