Digital adventure path: Audio guide delights children in Vogelsberg!
An exciting adventure awaits families and children in Vogelsberg! At the breathtaking mountain mowing path near Grebenhain, which extends over 9.1 kilometers, a new audio guide brings nature up close to the little explorers. Now the young naturalists can immerse themselves in an exciting world of biodiversity with just one click!
State Secretary Daniel Köfer from the Hessian Ministry of Agriculture was on site to inaugurate this innovative digital help - a real highlight for the students of the Oberwaldschule, who listened to the flow of information. "A biodiversity paradise is created here that revolves around diversity and nature conservation," said Köfer full of enthusiasm.
interactive journey of discovery
The audio guide is a product of the cooperation of several regional companies and institutions that are committed to maintaining the unique mountain mowing meadows. The children have direct access to exciting information via QR codes that are attached to the six stations of the family path-perfectly prepared in a child-friendly language! From the hazel mouse to the Türkenbundlilie, nature is brought close to them through lively stories.
"Our goal is not only to convey knowledge to the children, but also to bind them emotionally to nature," said the managing director of the Schwälbchen Molkerei, Günter Berz-List, while he highlighted the importance of such initiatives for the young generation. Thanks to this digital support, children can learn how important it is to protect the valuable meadows.
"The mountain mowing meadows are more than a natural habitat - they are a symbolic testimony of human engagement in nature conservation," added Köfer. The opening of the family path in the past year now opens up further ways to explore and understand the diversity of nature.
a treasure of biodiversity
The Vogelsberg has an outstanding importance for biodiversity. Patrick Krug, the first district deputy, warns: "Half of all mountain mowing meadows are in Hesse! Up to 61 plant species thrive in the smallest space." The majestic nature is an unmistakable part of the region - and that is exactly what the focus is on thanks to the audio guide.
Of course, the focus is also on the sustainable management of the meadows, but with restrictions in agricultural use. "We have to pay attention to a late harvest time and the fertilization should be avoided," Köfer explained the challenges. But the reward to preserve this natural beauty is immeasurable!
A special highlight: The mountain mowing meadows are nominated for the title "Natural Wonder of 2024"! Now it is time to vote quickly! Visit the website www.sielmann-stiftung.de/naturwunder and set an example for the protection of this unique nature. The countdown runs until October 3, and the mountain mowing meadows are currently in an impressive fourth place!
Tense your ears and get ready to experience nature in an unforgettable way - the mountain mowing path is welcome!
