Flea market in Glückstadt-Nord: Get to know and browse neighbors!
On Sunday, September 8th, a lively flea market takes place in Glückstadt-Nord, which is under the motto "Browse and amazement-buy and cloak snack". From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the residents have the opportunity to search for treasures at a neighborhood flea market and to get into conversation. This market, organized by the initiators Renate Hoppe and Christine Berg, is actively supported by the neighborhood management and extends over several streets in the district, including Carl-Legien-Straße, on Neuendeich, Jahnstrasse and Flensburger Straße.
The particular charm of this flea market lies in its decentralized design. It takes place exclusively on private terrain - be it in front gardens, carports or garages. One prerequisite is that footpaths and streets remain free so as not to hinder traffic and pedestrians. An important rule is also that landlords of apartment buildings have to be asked for permission if stands are built up in the vicinity of the buildings.
uncomplicated and inviting
What makes this flea market special is the fact that no pre -registrations are required. Anyone who is interested can participate, but there are clear requirements: traders are excluded and the sale of new goods or alcohol is not permitted. In order to make the stands visible to the interested buyers, the participants are invited to set up colorful balloons, windmills or other striking decorations.
A place of cooperation
A central concern of the organizers is the promotion of neighborly contact and the creation of a platform on which humans can come together. Christine Berg emphasizes: "We look forward to being able to reach the 3000 inhabitants with this social event." Renate Hoppe adds that all guests from Glückstadt are cordially invited, not only for browsing and buying, but also for an open exchange. "It is important to us that people can get to know each other and get into conversation, no matter how old they are or where they come from."
With such a commitment, the flea market should not only offer an opportunity to shop and sell, but also a way to experience community. There will be an information stand of the neighborhood management in front of Reichenberger Straße 27, where information is provided for strengthening the neighborhood cohesion.
