Tenth scanal run in Schenefeld: run along and cheerfully!
in Schenefeld, the final preparations for a sporting event that is greatly rooted in the community are running: the tenth scanal run. This popular running event, which is organized by Gerd Hauschildt and his committed team, takes place on Saturday, September 21st, and offers a great opportunity for sports enthusiasts to work both in terms of sport and to be part of a community.
The scanal run begins at 3 p.m. with a joint run of all participants who leads around the sports field. This opening act gives all runners the opportunity to get in the mood for the upcoming routes. From 4:50 p.m. it is the turn of the "Wichtellauf", which is specially intended for the youngest participants. Kids between the ages of three and six runs a 400 -meter -long route here, and that is very relaxed - without time measurement. "All children receive a medal at the subsequent award ceremony," explains Hauschildt.
helping hands and spectators
However, the festivities would be nothing without the commitment of the approximately 70 helpers who support the event. Organizer Hauschildt expresses his wish that the Schenefelders themselves also come to the route in large numbers and cheer on the runners. "In recent years, the encouragement from the community has been rather low," he regrets. He hopes for a lively spectator interest to use the athletes and to enliven the atmosphere even more.
The runs are organized at different distances of two to ten kilometers and lead the participants over a varied route. The participants can make themselves prepared on tar roads, lanes and sand paths, which they lead around the mill pond and through the surrounding meadows to Hadenfeld and back to Schenefeld. This natural route not only promises sporting challenges, but also an extremely attractive backdrop.
The award ceremony for the most outstanding runners takes place at 5:30 p.m. Cups receive the best three runners of each distance, while all other participants are rewarded with certificates or medals for their services. Special material prices are awarded to the teams that are composed of at least three runners - whether female or male -, and so the community spirit is also encouraged. This takes off the scanal run from many other events, since there is also a team competition that rewarded teamwork.
festive mood after the competition
But the scanal run is not just a competition. After the runs, it goes to the legendary after-show party, where the participants can celebrate together. Hauschildt remembers: "Last year we literally celebrated until the police came." This loose and inviting atmosphere is part of the charm of the event.
Interested participants can register on the gymnastics website at www.ts-schenefeld.de. Late registrations are possible on the day of the event until 2:30 p.m. for a fee of 3 euros. The start fees vary depending on the running distance: 8 euros for the five and ten kilometers route, 4 euros for the two -kilometer long children's run and only 2 euros for the weight run. In order to recharge your batteries for the sporting challenges, coffee, cake and grill sausage are ready to make the participants and spectators comfortable after the run.
