Pedagogical heritage: Ingrid Baumgartner-Schmitt's inspiring career
education community and school management - a recipe for success for Annweiler
Ingrid Baumgartner-Schmitt not only shaped the Realschule Plus in Annweiler, but also made an important contribution to the regional educational landscape. Her 40-year-old pedagogical career started early with a strong interest in the scientific school subjects, from which a passion for school management and personnel development later grew.
After Baumgartner-Schmitt worked as a work student at Schott Mainz, she took over various management positions at the Realschule Annweiler before finally appointed to the Kaiserslautern study seminar as headmistress and specialist in chemistry. Her commitment led to the foundation of the dual high school in Landau, whose management she later took over.
Although the dual high school later had to give way to an integrated comprehensive school, Baumgartner-Schmitt remained a sought-after speaker at the Speyer Pedagogical State Institute. But her true passion always went to school practice, which is why she took the opportunity to return to Annweiler in 2014.
There she founded the working group "Bildungslandschaft Annweiler", which promoted close cooperation between all schools in the community. Baumgartner-Schmitt always emphasized the importance of networking with the municipality, parenthood and the students themselves for successful educational work.
Under her leadership, the Realschule Plus in Annweiler received numerous awards, including "School without racism" and "model school of the home foundation". The farewell ceremony on Monday recognizes your life's work and its outstanding achievements in the education community of Annweiler.
