Prenzlau bus driver Matthias Gralow: Call to help for helpers in need
The bus driver Matthias Gralow from Prenzlau has opened his heart to a very special passenger. For more than two decades in coach traffic, the 52-year-old apparently had the empathy for his passengers passed into flesh and blood. After entering the line traffic of the UVG four years ago, he continues to take care of the people who climb on his bus every day.
One of his passengers, an old man, has been special for him recently. Gralow can't help but worry about the well -being of the pensioner who is in Röpersdorfer Straße. "When I see how he gets, it literally hurts," he says. The man's condition has apparently deteriorated; Gralow notes that the pensioner can hardly go and his knees obviously cause great problems for him.
An insistent call
recently the bus driver experienced a shocking moment when the pensioner almost stirred in front of his bus. This incident did not leave Gralow calm, and he decided to ask the public for help. "Please help me to make life a little more bearable to this man. I think he would have helped with a walker," he said in an interview with the Uckermark Kurier.
The bus driver himself no longer has a walker that he could donate. The old rollator of his late father has already been given away. "Maybe someone else has one that he doesn't need," Gralow hopes for the solidarity of the community. He took the old man to heart and wants to be active.
A personal responsibility
Gralow arises as to why the pensioner does not receive any support in everyday life. "I don't know what's going wrong, but I certainly don't want to beg," he says. Therefore, he promised him to take care of the Situation. If he does not find a used rollator, he is even ready to take his own money in hand to help the man. "But I can no longer look away," he describes his inner conflict and the responsibility he feels.
Matthias Gralow is an example of how sympathy and empathy can work in everyday life. His call has the potential to improve the lives of a person noticeably and shows the positive effect of small gestures of helpfulness.
