Memorial and meeting trip 2025: Seniors and young people united

In February 2025, a significant commemoration and meeting trip will be launched, which offers not only the young people but also seniors the opportunity to experience history together. This trip from February 6th to 9th, organized by a merger of the synagogue association, the team school and the Ü60 meeting, aims to actively promote dealing with the past.

importance of memory work

The trip leads to places of historical relevance, including Weimar, Wewelsburg and the former Buchenwald concentration camp. Such excursions are of central importance for memory and educational work, since they create a space for exchange and discourse. Anti -Semitism is a central topic that will be the focus during the discussion round after the city tour in Weimar. This makes an important contribution to the awareness and promotion of tolerance in today's society.

the travel participant

The trip is attractive for different age groups, which enables an enriching encounter between the generations. So far, only two places for seniors have been occupied, which means that there is still room for interested participants aged over 60 years. According to Brigitte Leismann, cashier of the synagogue association, direct registrations are possible at the email address brigitte.leismann@t-online.de.

detailed program sequence

participants awaits a varied program. After the departure on Thursday morning from the Dreingau-Halle to Weimar, a dinner and a walk through the old town are planned. A city tour will be organized on Friday, which leads along the footsteps of Goethe and Schiller before the group attends a discussion forum on the subject of anti -Semitism. Saturday is all about the Buchenwald memorial, where a three -hour tour is expected, followed by a thematically suitable movie. A last stop will be taken at Wewelsburg on Sunday before the return trip to Drensteinfurt.

accommodations and preparation

The travelers from the generation of young people are accommodated in a hostel, while the seniors spend the night in hotels. When registering, it must be stated whether your own booking is requested or the organizers should take over the room reservation. The participation fee of 165 euros includes travel expenses as well as all admission prices, but not overnight stays and meals. In addition, preparation and follow-up weekends are considered in the old synagogue that enable a deeper examination of the topics of the trip.
