New residential construction project in Rödgen: Citizens' ideas for innovative living concepts
in the idyllic landscape of the Wetter Valley, in the Rödgen district of Bad Nauheim, a remarkable residential project is scheduled. Mayor Gisela Babitz-Koch, who has lived in this charming environment for over 50 years, is enthusiastic about the possibilities that open up here. In the immediate vicinity there are a school, a daycare center and numerous leisure and shopping opportunities that guarantee a high standard of living. These factors have made a significant contribution to the decision for the future development of the Rosenhof.
The Rosenhof, a largely undeveloped area, will accommodate a future -oriented residential area, according to the first ideas of the developers Faber and Schnepp and the planning office BLFP. At a meeting of the local advisory board last week, which was visited by around 80 citizens, the planning team presented the first sketches and offered an insight into the vision behind this project.
innovative approaches in living space planning
Mayor Klaus Kreß emphasized the steadily increasing demand for living space in Bad Nauheim during the meeting and explained that the city does not strive for unchecked growth, but would like to concentrate on structural interior development. This approach is intended to help maintain the rural structure and at the same time to create sufficient living opportunities.
Stefan Faber, Managing Director of Faber and Schnepp, explained that the land should be acquired this month. A central element of planning is the active integration of the citizens. In this context, a dialogue is established to find out together what is desired in the community and considered meaningful.
The planner Andreas Schmitt commented on the current development tendency in Germany and questioned the previous practice to create large residential areas with single -family houses. Instead, the new plans provide a mix of apartment buildings from different sizes to create a socially balanced living environment. The concept of the "cluster living", in which community units are intended with shared rooms such as kitchens and gardens, could be exemplary here. Particular attention is paid to the creation of a “new center” for Rödgen, which also includes sustainable energy use and a well thought -out mobility concept.
Those present in the community center were actively involved and asked critical questions on important topics such as area sealing and the effects on the infrastructure. Some citizens expressed concern about the lack of commercial offers in the area and the capacities of the existing daycare, which underlines the need to create suitable framework conditions for smaller businesses.
Heiko Heinzel, head of department of the city, explained the steps that will be necessary in the future to advance the planning. A collaborative approach is planned to merge the urban ideas with the ideas of the citizens and the goals of the developer. This fits into a larger image of participatory urban planning, which has become increasingly important in recent years.
It is gratifying that the projects not only aim at a structural compaction, but also to increase the quality of life of the residents and to ensure harmonious integration into the existing infrastructure. In view of the last developments and active citizen participation, Rödgen could soon step into a new, future -oriented light that focuses on the needs of its residents.
