Memory of the victims: Removal of wreaths to commemorate the Berlin Mauer
On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 4 p.m., the district office Reinickendorf, the district council and the municipality of Glienicke/Nordbahn at the Memorial Cross on Edelhofdamm/Oranienburger Chaussee, 13465 Berlin-Frohnau gathered.
The solemn wreath laying was in memory of the 63rd anniversary of the Berlin Wall building and the many people who lost their lives in the following years. A moving ceremony that brought together the community so as not to forget the story.
The deputy district mayor of Reinickendorf, Uwe Brockhausen, and the mayor of the municipality of Glienicke/Nordbahn, Dr. Hans-Günther Oberlack, introductory words that reminded of the tragedy and at the same time gave a view of a hopeful future.
A special moment was the support from the 7th company of the Wachbataillon at the Federal Ministry of Defense, which monitored the minutes of the event and thus created a connection between past and the present.
